Fr. Tony's case - NOTICE OF CONSTITUTIONAL QUESTION

Fr. Tony has every intention of taking his case all the way to the Supreme Court if necessary. He believes he is doing God's work in standing up against abortion. He's totally convinced of this.

He is very happy that there are people out there who support his case. He is very thankful to everyone who has made a donation and/or who is praying for him.

For someone who has been protesting abortion in a very public way, for thirty years now, this is the logical conclusion to what Fr. Tony's been doing all along. Making a public stand against abortion. To tell the government that abortion is wrong. To use free speech as the tool of choice.

The government continues to do its best in quashing freedom of speech rights. Fr. Tony is having none of it. He will protest until he physically can't protest anymore. Fr. Tony is not going away.

For more information on Fr. Tony's case, please see his lawyer's letters (NOTICE OF CONSTITUTIONAL QUESTION) to the Crown Prosecutor Ontario Court of Justice – Provincial Offences Court and the The Attorney General of Ontario on behalf of Fr. Tony.

I understand some people haven't seen these letters which explain Fr. Tony's case, which is why I am republishing them now.

More on Fr. Tony's bubble zone constitutional challenge

"The case has been adjourned to Jan. 24 and “transferred to the Ontario Court of Justice so it can be heard before a judge,” said constitutional lawyer Albertos Polizogopoulos, who is representing the 83-year-old Jesuit priest.
“This is because we have challenged the constitutionality of the legislation in question and a justice of the peace cannot strike legislation as being unconstitutional,” said the lawyer.
Polizogopoulos said they will likely set a trial date at the Jan. 24 court appearance."

Educate your MP on abortion not being a Charter right

Theresa Winchester recently sent this letter to Justin Trudeau and to her MP.

I will send a copy to my own MP as well. I encourage others to copy and also send to their MP, with a handwritten note on Theresa's letter. Something like this:
"I agree with the author of this letter to the PM. There is no Charter right to abortion in Canada".
Sign your letter and print your mailing address on it. You can mail your letter postage free to:

[Name of Member of Parliament]
House of Commons

November 18, 2018

To the 22nd Prime Minister of Canada:

As a former Canadian military staff officer, I write to advise you that you have been badly briefed concerning the contents of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Certainly, since you are the PM, you would not want to be misquoting a seminal Canadian document, particularly one with which your father is intrinsically linked.

Your pre-election statements about “Charter right to an abortion” were perhaps excusable. However, since the election, you are embarrassing yourself with these repeated declarations. Please, have a look at the enclosed copy of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms; a woman’s Charter “right to an abortion” is not there, it just ain’t, no matter how hard you search. Not. There.

While you are looking closely at the Charter, you will notice a few items that are there:
  • Section 2 (a)  Freedom of conscience
  • Section 2 (b)  Freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression
The 2018 attestation signatures required to access the federal funding for summer jobs flies directly in the face of these two Fundamental Freedoms.

After hearing you speak on this when you were attempting to defend the indefensible, I thought, “well, following this argument, when the Conservatives win the next election, he will accept if the PC party requires that those wanting federal summer jobs funding sign an attestation stating that the applicant agrees with an elected senate or some such Conservative platform item”.

Ummmm, you understand that freedom of conscience is all encompassing, that the Charter doesn’t say “except for topics which the ruling party disagree with”? Nope.
  • Section 7 Legal Rights - Right to life
  • Section 15 (1) Every individual is equal before and under the law and has a right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law without discrimination and, in particular, without discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability.
Mr. Trudeau, surely your staff advised you of the contents of Sections 7 & 15? These are fairly basic stuff as Charters of Rights and Freedoms go. So, how do you square them with sex selection and “might be handicapped” abortions done daily in Canada? Do you get around the absolute guaranteed rights by telling yourself that the pre-born are not human and not “individuals” to whom the Charter applies? Oh, and note the Charter right to protection from discrimination based on mental or physical disability -- death being the ultimate discrimination. Doh!

Hmmm, that “not a human” thing? That is exactly how the great atrocities of history have occurred, for example, in Nazi Germany and more recently in Rwanda where individuals who were Jews and Tutsis were declared to be not human, thereby justifying their killing. Do you get the connection? Those with power, control and voice need simply declare those without power, control and voice to be less than human. In all cases, scientific evidence shows these declarations contravene basic human rights.

You declare yourself loud and often as a feminist. Just so’s ya know, real feminists truly understand how those with power, control and voice abuse those without power, control and voice. Again, do you get the connection?

Now, with a fuller understanding of the Canadian Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms, your staff needs to create a working document by which you can gracefully backtrack. This will be the opportunity to make up for the great harm done to your place in history. In less than 100 years, humanity will view abortion in the same way that we now see the formerly acceptable practise of human slavery -- those with no power, control or voice versus the loud, the powerful, the controlling. Your record as a PM who wrongly defended abortion as solely about a women’s non-existent Charter right to choose will speak for itself - seriously, how embarrassing would that be??

Yours sincerely,

Theresa Winchester, OMM, CD, rmc

Archbishop Prendergast supports Fr. Tony's Charter challenge

Fr. Tony received this beautiful note from the Most Reverend Terrence Prendergast, S.J. Archbishop of Ottawa regarding Fr. Tony's Charter challenge.
"November 12, 2018
Dear Tony: P.C. [Pax Christi]

Here's some financial support for your upcoming trial and legal expenses. It comes with the assurance of my prayers for the cause, and for you, as well as my fraternal support.
Sincerely in Christ,
+ Terry S.J."
This support from the Archbishop is great news for Fr. Tony, for all pro-life people, and for freedom of expression rights. Because this law that Fr. Tony is fighting specifically targets freedom of expression rights only for pro-life people and not for pro-choice people.

This Safe Access to Abortion Services Act is clearly discriminatory and must be thrown out.

Here is the donation link if you would like to help Fr. Tony's case.

Or send a cheque and make it out to "Vincent Dagenais Gibson, In trust” and send it to Fr. Tony's lawyer Albertos Polizogopoulos:

Vincent Dagenais Gibson LLP/s.r.l.
260, rue Dalhousie Street, Suite 400

Just include a cover-letter, or the re: line of the cheque note that the cheque is for Fr. Tony Van Hee's case.

Constitutional challenge begun for Fr. Tony's freedom of expression rights

From Albertos Polizogopoulos, Fr. Tony's lawyer:
"We appeared in court today. It has been adjourned to January 24th and transferred to the Court of Justice (instead of the provincial offenses court) since we're doing a constitutional challenge.
We should be able to pick up disclosure, which is the evidence the Crown has against Fr. Tony, next week."
And so it begins. Another pro-life constitutional challenge. For another pro-life person.

Safe access to abortion services is never safe for the fetus

Today Maureen and I joined Fr. Tony Van Hee witnessing outside the abortion bubble zone near the abortion site in Ottawa.

It was a very cold day with a -18 wind chill. Especially cold when you are standing there for any length of time.

Have you ever thought of the irony of this bill, the so-called "safe access to abortion services"? Imagine a person holding a sign that talks about free speech as being unsafe to anyone accessing abortion?

And what about the class of persons for whom abortion is never safe, and never can be safe: the child yet to be born? No such thing as safe access to abortion for her.

Why people silently witness at the abortion site

In Michael Gaitley's book The Second Greatest Story Ever Told, in chapter four he talks about St. Faustina. St. Faustina was a simple Catholic nun who died at 33 in 1939 right before Hitler invaded Poland.

Her Diary is am amazing story of God's Mercy.

But it was a footnote regarding St. Faustina's prediction of World War II that surprised me. I had read St. Faustina's Diary but was unaware of this fact. It is a sworn statement from Blessed Michael Sopocko regarding St. Faustina's beatification. Fr. Sopocko was St. Faustina's spiritual director.
"[Sister Faustina] also foretold the destruction that would afflict the Fatherland (Poland), that there would come most sorrowful times. She saw her fellow citizens expelled to the East and the West.
She wrote in her Diary that Jesus himself said he was about to destroy one of the most beautiful cities of our country like Sodom on account of the crimes committed there.
Having read these things in her Diary, I asked her what this prophecy meant. She answered confirming the things she wrote, and, responding to a further question of mine: On account of what sins God would inflict these punishments, she replied, "especially on account of the slaughter of infants not yet born, as the most grievous crime of all." (emphasis added)"
When I read this, all I could think of was: Fr. Tony's silent witness near the abortion facilityWhat could possibly be more important than this?

How the abortion bubble zone creates two classes of people

One of the inconsistencies of the Bill to Create Safe Access to Abortion Services is that if you're pro-life, you can't carry a sign inside the bubble zone. But if you're "pro-choice", you can carry a sign. See here and here.

And this week, once again, we see this discrimination in action:
"We had some protesters at the 40 Days for Life mid-point rally. They were inside the bubble zone with their usual signs. I asked the Ottawa police if they (so called pro-choicers) are allowed signs within the bubble zone and I was told that they are."
In other words, we only apply freedom of expression rights to people, if they are "pro-choice".

Protesting public policy on public property - prohibited

Fr. Tony's lawyer Albertos Polizogopoulos has filed two letters: one to the Attorney General of Ontario, and one to the Crown regarding charges against him. Fr. Tony who was charged under the Safe Access to Abortion Services Act which prohibits freedom of expression rights for pro-life people only.

If a pro-choice person held a sign in the same place, they wouldn't be charged. Therefore this bill not only prohibits free speech, but is also discriminatory against pro-life people.

"The Defendant intends to question the constitutional validity of the Safe Access to Abortion Services Act, 2017 S.O. 2017, chapter 19 Schedule 1.
...
The following is the legal basis for the constitutional question:
10. Father Van Hee was protesting a political and public policy issue on public property. The Act has resulted in his freedom of expression pursuant to section 2(b) of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms being violated. The limits cannot be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.
11. The Act is arbitrary and overbroad and contrary to the Charter. As such, the Act is null and void.
12. The limits on Father Van Hee’s freedom of expression do not serve a pressing and substantial objective. The limits cannot be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.
13. The means chosen to serve the Act’s objective are not rationally connected to the objective, are not minimally impairing and are not proportionate.
14. The limits on Father Van Hee’s freedom of expression cannot be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society."
It's pretty pathetic how pro-life people are continually having to defend our right to freedom of expression by going to court. It's supposedly a right but it sure isn't free when you have to go to court and pay for it. Over and over again.

Educating MPs on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child

Letter from Theresa Winchester to her MP Neil Ellis

Just thought I'd write to you to remind you that Human Rights Day is coming up on Dec 10, same as every year for some time now.

So why would I want to remind you of this, you ask?  Because Canada is doing an incredibly BAD job of protecting its children in spite of being a member of the United Nations.

Please confirm my belief that Canada is a nation state of the United Nations and as such, as party to Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenants on Human Rights.

And why would I say that?  Because the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child state a few things that somehow, the government of Canada and therefore you, do not honour or respect in Canada.  Let's just copy and paste from this very credible website:

...as indicated in the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, "the child, by reason of his physical and mental immaturity, needs special safeguards and care, including appropriate legal protection, before as well as after birth",

...in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the United Nations has proclaimed that childhood is entitled to special care and assistance,

...the United Nations has, in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and in the International Covenants on Human Rights, proclaimed and agreed that everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth therein, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status,

Article 6
1. States Parties recognize that every child has the inherent right to life.
2. States Parties shall ensure to the maximum extent possible the survival and development of the child.
Article 7
1. The child shall be registered immediately after birth and shall have the right from birth to a name, the right to acquire a nationality and. as far as possible, the right to know and be cared for by his or her parents.
So, you likely are a pretty smart dude, having made it to be my local MP.  Tell me how you reconcile all of these rights of the child with the approximately 100,000 yearly deaths of Canadian children by abortion.  And even more baffling, how children who survive abortion are left to die or deliberately killed after birth and no one is held accountable under the Criminal Code of Canada.  Cause I just can't get my head around that.

There are some very very basic, easy to understand facts at play here that neither right nor honourable Justin Trudeau and the entire Liberal Party seem to be unaware of:
a.  The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees all Canadian humans a right to life;
b.  There is no right to an abortion under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.   Because JT keeps referring to it again and again, I've looked at the Charter again and again -- it just ain't there!  Or does he perhaps have an unpublished but more official version of the Charter?  That would explain it.

Please correct me if there is something that I do not understand.  After all, you're an Member of Parliament and I am only a taxpaying retired 30 year Canadian Forces Human Resources specialist.  You likely understand these documents far better than I.  Cause to me, simple-minded as I am, it seems to me that every abortion to which there is no right in Canada or in the UN takes life which is a protect right from a child.  What am I missing here?

Sure is baffling.  And yet it continues.  And the PM continues to say things that are not true.  And all his MPs nod in agreement on that side of the house like a bunch of Bobbleheads.

Just saying.

Priest challenges Safe Access to Abortion Services Act

Fr. Tony Van Hee has retained constitutional lawyer Albertos Polizogopoulos to represent him against a ticket he received last Wednesday at the Ottawa Morgentaler abortion site.

Fr. Van Hee received the ticket last week for his silent witness in front of the abortion facility in Ottawa under the "Safe Access to Abortion Services Act Section 3(1)(e)(iii)". You know the one. Where Jim Watson got an Ontario law enacted by Kathleen Wynne's Liberals to prevent people from using their constitutional right to free speech? Yes, that one.

According to the ticket, Fr. Van Hee committed the offense to "intimidate or attempt to intimidate the person".

It's kind of hard to intimidate someone when you are across the street, looking away from the abortion site, holding signs that say absolutely nothing about abortion:
"The primacy of free speech - cornerstone of western civilization - without free speech the state is a corpse"
They really do want to shut us up don't they?

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Polizogopoulos won my own freedom of expression case against those same Wynne Liberals, and more recently a court challenge for the Christian Heritage Party.

Fr. Van Hee will have to appear in court on Nov 16, 2018.

I know who I'm rooting for. And it isn't Jim Watson.

The Mad Hatter has nothing on Ontario's bubble zone law

Okay class, let's review.

This abortion bubble zone law has got to be one of the most moronic laws that the former Liberal government in Ontario--together with Ottawa mayor Jim Watson--ever dreamed up.

Of course, we know it was done for purely political reasons. In fact we have proof of that. But first let's recap this down the rabbit hole lunacy, and then update it with the latest.

It all begins with Joyce Arthur's writing to Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson. Arthur sends a submission to Jim Watson about a make believe need for an abortion bubble zone. Jim Watson parrots Arthur's submission to the Attorney General's office. He literally cuts and pastes Arthur's blah blah blah and sends that to the Attorney General.

Jim Watson falls for Arthur's nonsense and includes her make believe non-reasons for a bubble zone:
• Protecting the safety and privacy of providers, staff, and patients
• Protecting the right to access healthcare services
• Protecting women’s health by reducing the risk of complications
• Protecting the clinic and property from destruction and vandalism
• Fostering community peace by reducing neighbourhood nuisance and noise
• Reducing traffic problems, hazards, and accident risk
• Potentially reducing anti-choice violence and harassment
• Potentially lowering the levels and impact of anti-choice activism in general
His letter to the Attorney General concludes with this gem:
"Legal services has included the recommendations made by the Study's authors in its analysis of the available options."
I am not kidding.

The Attorney General buys this mythological need for a bubble zone and implements the new law.

I learned of all this through a freedom of information request on the bubble zone.

I am now appealing to the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario because of all the information that I didn't receive.

In fact, what I did receive was pretty sloppy stuff. No index was included in my package. When an index finally arrived (after I told the information commissioner I hadn't received it when she asked), it referenced document numbers, but my information only had page numbers and no document numbers. So clearly it was impossible to match the index with the stack of papers I received.

One of my other complaints was the glaring omission of any police reports to support the need for a bubble zone in the first place. You know, like actual evidence for the need for a bubble zone?  When I asked the information commissioner about this, I was told:
"with respect to the police reports, I had followed up earlier with the ministry [attorney general] and they advised there were no police reports."
So the abortion bubble zone was enacted purely on the basis of Joyce Arthur's say so, and not on any actual concrete police reports. Political? You bethca. Of course I had already learned that there were no police reports for Ottawa, through an FOI of the Ottawa Police. So not only were there no police reports for Ottawa, but now I learn that there were no police reports for the entire province of Ontario.

Even a pro-abortion's own research corroborates the extremely low incidence of any harassment or violence at abortion clinics in Canada. This information was also not included in Jim Watson's so-called "rationale" for an abortion bubble zone.
"Facilities reported very little harassment (Table 4). No Canadian facility reported a resignation of an abortion provider–physician or any staff member owing to harassment. Only a single facility reported any resignation of an allied health professional staff member, and in this case the facility specified that the one resignation was not owing to violence, fear, or threats. Similarly, two-thirds of reporting facilities (49 of 74, 66.2%) indicated no episodes of harassment or violence in 2012, with a further 28.4% (21 of 74) reporting solely picketing without interference. Among 7 facilities reporting “other” episodes of harassment, half specified only receipt of harassing e-mail."
And now we have an elderly priest being charged with breaking this stupid law. Fr. Tony Van Hee's ticket tells us the reason he was charged:
"Intimidation or intent to intimidate a person."
A sign about free speech is intimidating? To whom? Jim Watson?
"The primacy of free speech - cornerstone of western civilization - without free speech the state is a corpse"
Fr. Tony was also facing away from the abortion facility when he held that "intimidating" sign. So he wasn't contravening this nonsensical clause in the law by:
"continuously or repeatedly observe the clinic or facility or persons entering or leaving the clinic or facility,"
Yes. This law is political. Pure and simple.

Praying to end abortion standing in the corner

Today Maureen and I joined other people who want to pray for an end to abortion during the 40 Days for Life. We prayed two rosaries and one Divine Mercy Chaplet. We were there from 7 am to 9:30 am. I also went to Mass at 8:00 at St. Pat's. Lots of prayers, which is what the scourge of abortion needs.

We have Jim Watson to thank for our being prevented from praying across from the abortion facility.

No freedom of expression rights for us, as we stood in the corner for our audacity at praying across from the facility in days gone by.

Maureen was so cold that she put a bag inside her coat to try and keep warm, like an insulation layer. I called it her bag motif. See bottom picture.

Jim Watson's attempt to move us out of the way only means we will now have to pray from a distance. Prayers work just as well no matter where you pray. He can't take away our freedom of conscience and religion rights as much as I'm sure he'd like to. Sorry Jimmy.

Freedom of expression hero

"The primacy of free speech - cornerstone of western civilization - without free speech the state is a corpse" Fr. Tony Van Hee.

Fr. Tony is my hero.

City councillor afraid of pro-life people

So yesterday I get a knock on my door. I answer it. One of Tobi Nussbaum's volunteers is there.

Her: Hi I am canvassing for Tobi Nussbaum.

Me: I won't be voting for him.

Her: Would you like to speak with him, he's just out here.

Me: No.

Her: Can I ask why not?

Me: I didn't like the way he handled the pro-life flag last year when it was taken down.

Her: Okay thanks.

And off she ran. She couldn't get away from the door fast enough.

Man our city councillors and mayor don't like being around us.

21 reasons why graphic abortion pictures work and why the pro-abortions hate them

The pro-abortions really hate graphic abortion pictures. They really really hate them. Why? Because when people see these pictures of what an abortion actually looks like, something kind of miraculous happens. People change their minds about abortion.

I finally read my latest newsletter from CCBR. In it were 21 testimonies from interns. The testimonies detail the hearts that were changed when the interns showed these pictures to people on the street.

So next time you see one of these images on the street, you may also see someone who is having their mind (or heart) changed about abortion.

Good job guys and gals. You are amazing.

Liar liar pants on fire

Have you ever been lied to? I mean really really lied to? I have. Probably all of us have. And maybe some of us even do the lying.

Last night I dreamed I was with some people who were really really nice. I had spent some time with these people and was forming a relationship with them. Then I found out they were lying to me. They were actually terrorists. And they killed my partner. And I was captured and they wanted me to become a terrorist too. Or die.

It got me thinking about the times I've been lied to. How it felt to be betrayed. It doesn't feel very good.

Then I started thinking about some politicians who lie to us. Every day. Of course we usually know that they are lying to us. You can feel it. It's a different kind of lying than when the people close to us lie.

Then there are the people who lie about abortion. Some directly. Some indirectly. By not telling the full truth. Lies of omission. But the result is the same. They are still lies. People believe the lies and then they start spreading those lies.

Then there is the Catholic church, the one I belong to. Where some bishops have been lying. To cover up evil behaviour. To cover up abusing children and others. Trusts are broken. People are seriously traumatized and harmed.

Some people also lie about the people who run and work at crisis pregnancy centres. They spread all kinds of lies about these places. The liars will say things like the people who work at crisis pregnancy centres are lying to their clients. That they discriminate against LGBT people. That they lie about the physical and psychological risks of abortion.

So many lies. So many destroyed lives.

Speaking of terrorists. And lying. This week Canada's premier pro-abortion organization ARCC called prolifers terrorists. I am not kidding.

I watched two videos recently when I was at a cottage with two of my sisters.

One was called Hush about abortion, the other Fatal Flaws about euthanasia.

These two videos expose many of the lies of the abortion industry and the euthanasia industry. Both are well worth watching.

The world would be a much better place if people just stopped lying. That's all it would take to make a huge difference.

Satan likes it when we lie. It's good to remind ourselves of this sometimes. Me? I go to God to get relief from the lies. Not sure how I could handle the lies otherwise. I guess I'm lucky. How about you?

Canada: why did 766 late-term livebirth abortions happen?

This is extremely depressing.

According to new data, livebirth late-term abortions are still happening in Canada. And the numbers are way too high.

According to CIHI, There were 766 late-term livebirth abortions in a five year period from 2013/2014 to 2017/2018. These numbers are even higher since they exclude Quebec.

There has been much speculation about the reasons for these late-term livebirth abortions (P96.4 Termination of pregnancy) but we have no hard data on why they happen since the reasons or circumstances aren't published with the data.

A study was done in Quebec in 2016. That study:
"found the number of infants who were born alive and died after an abortion jumped from one per 100,000 in 1986-1999, to 19.4 per 100,000 between 2000 and 2012. Those accidental live births totalled 218 babies."
The study's author asked these sobering questions:
“How are such infants cared for?” they ask in the journal Neonatology. “If not resuscitated, is palliative care provided? Are the infants admitted to neonatal units or do they die in the delivery room?”
All information regarding the reasons they happen, and what happens to the child after they are born alive, is anecdotal.

But they do happen. This we know for a fact and we know the numbers: 766 late-term livebirth abortions in a five years period.

(Note: below is all my data on this. 2017-2018, as well as data from 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 is new)

Hate crime at Vancouver Crisis Pregnancy Centre

This past Monday, the exterior of the Crisis Pregnancy Centre of Vancouver was vandalized. Red paint was thrown at all their windows, doors, signage, and the sidewalk entrance. Offensive language was scribbled in the red paint.

There were thousands of dollars in damage to the centre. The centre's signage is probably not salvageable so will have to be replaced.

Brian Norton, Executive Director of the centre, told me that the police informed him that the vandalism was not random, but rather that their centre was specifically targeted. And that the police are viewing this as a ‘hate crime’.

Anyone who is familiar with the tactics of some “pro-choice” people know that these kinds of bullying tactics are nothing new.

Last week I watched a video posted on Facebook. In the video a pizza business owner screamed and ranted obscenities at some very peaceful respectful pro-life protesters. The protesters were bullied off the public corner where they were, and forced to relinquish their freedom of expression and freedom of peaceful assembly rights by this raving person. If they hadn't, who knows what kind of physical violence might have ensued?

(Johnathon Van Maren talks about this disgusting behaviour here: Viral video of Toronto woman swearing at pro-life activists shows what the abortion movement is truly like)

Subsequent comments to this harassment on Twitter showed the jubilation that ensued when the pro-"choice” people “won”.

This comment was posted on ARCC's website regarding the screaming pizza owner:
"Our favorite vegan pizza magician Jen is getting a lot of attention for how she reacted to anti-choice protesters outside of her business. We 100% support and applaud her!! Send her positive vibes and supportive messages, she's our hero!"

How do they win? By intimidation. By bullying. By screaming. By swearing. By forcing us to give up our charter rights to speech, assembly and conscience. And by vandalizing our properties.

Are these two incidents connected? I have no idea. What I do know is that these kinds of extreme hateful bullying tactics by pro-“choice” extremists have become the norm against anyone who is pro-life.

More than 1,000 late term abortions in 2017-2018

Below is the latest data from CIHI (2017/2018) on Canada's late term abortions.

(Update: I forgot to put the word "livebirth" in the four following statistics.)

There were 8 livebirth abortions done in Canada with a gestational age of 25-28 weeks.

There were 102 livebirth abortions done in Canada with a gestational age 21-24 weeks gestation.

There were 31 livebirth abortions done in Canada with a gestational age of 17-20 weeks gestation.

There were 5 livebirth abortions done in Canada with a gestational age of unknown gestational age and/or > 29 weeks gestation.

Totals:
  • 910 late-term abortions in Canada resulting in a stillbirth.
  • 146 late-term abortions in Canada resulting in a livebirth.
Last year's numbers.

All of these 1,056 were late-term abortions (20 weeks or greater gestation).

These numbers do not include late-term abortions from Quebec, so this number could be and probably is higher.

Definitions from CIHI:

Stillbirths from Termination of Pregnancy:
"P96.4 Termination of pregnancy, affecting fetus or newborn"
Newborns from Termination of Pregnancy:
"P96.4 Termination of pregnancy, affecting fetus and newborn"
Stillborn Abstracting:
"A stillborn is any intrauterine fetal demise or termination of pregnancy occurring at or after 20 completed weeks of gestation in which the fetus shows no signs of life. A liveborn resulting from a medical abortion prior to 20 weeks is considered pre-viable for the purposes of classification and an abstract is not created."

When a Charter right isn't a Charter right

There are currently four Charter challenges being brought against the federal government regarding the Summer Jobs Program's unconstitutional attestation clause. Most likely there will be more coming.

This is all really good news for the people of Canada, and especially for those of us (all of us?) who value our Charter rights.

The media, even those from the left, see the massive problem with the Trudeau attestation. In fact the only people in Canada who think the attestation is fair--are Justin Trudeau and maybe some of his MPs, but most likely not all of them.

All this because our feminist prime minister decided to invent a new Charter right: "reproductive rights". Also known as the Right to Abortion. Justin Trudeau also likes to use the new buzz words "Charter values". Another meaningless notion.

Except instead of doing anything constitutional to create this new "right", he simply dreamed it into existence.

And now companies who have been denied funds under the SJP have to defend their actual Charter rights--all in the name of a non-existing Charter right.

In other words, under a Justin Trudeau government, actual Charter rights can only become actual Charter rights once you go to court, spend a whole lot of money, and spend a whole lot of time to put forward your case. A case that any grade school child could easily comprehend if you put it to them like this:
"I have a right to my religious beliefs. I have a right to not agree with abortion because I think it's morally wrong. I have a right to listen to my conscience. So why do I need to go to court to ask a judge to grant me these rights? I thought they were already mine? The Charter says I have them, so why can't I have them without going to court?
Is a Prime Minister really allowed to create a new right, just because he wants to? I don't understand this."
And there is another important fact about all this.

Can you imagine the millions of dollars the tax payer will have to fork out so that Justin Trudeau can defend his make believe Right to Abortion? After all, these are his "charter values" not ours. So why will we have to pay for Justin Trudeau to defend himself?

Open letter to ARCC from a crisis pregnancy centre (Part 2)

Back on May 1, ARCC wrote this on their Facebook page about Valley Care Pregnancy Centre:
"We are very disturbed that Scotsburn Milk, Saputo, and Avery's Farm Markets are raising money for the Valley Care Pregnancy Centre. Valley Care, according to its website, does not provide abortion referrals despite saying that they provide "abortion education." Their website also has a disclaimer that reads: "This information is intended for general educational purposes only and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional medical advice."
Not only do Pregnancy Crisis Centres operate under anti-choice missions, they provide misinformation and seek to persuade or bully people who want to access an abortion. LOV-ED is an abstinence only education program."

ARCC was "very disturbed" that this CPC was receiving funding from businesses. Doesn't that seem kind of strange to you? It does to me. What business is it of ARCC to care about what a business does, or doesn't do with its money?

Then this statement:
"Not only do Pregnancy Crisis Centres operate under anti-choice missions, they provide misinformation and seek to persuade or bully people who want to access an abortion."
None of these allegations are true or factual as I have written at length before.

ARCC also says that CPCs won't refer for abortions. True enough.

But why should CPCs refer for abortions? If CPCs are against abortions why would they refer women to have them? Wouldn't that be unethical? And women in Canada don't even need a referral to have an abortion in the first place. So no referral is necessary.

ARCC used to complain that CPCs didn't say that they wouldn't refer for abortions.  Now when CPCs explicitly say they won't refer for abortions, ARCC is still complaining. You can't have it both ways.

In response to ARCC's own misinformation and bullying, Valley Care Pregnancy Centre wrote ARCC a letter on their Facebook page. What they wrote was humble, loving and truthful:
"We are deeply saddened and distressed by the misunderstanding your organization displays concerning who we are and what we do as a pregnancy centre in Canada. We are simply convinced of the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death because all humanity is made in the image of God. Therefore, we seek to inform people of the wonders of life including fetal development and the risks of abortion while making strong, loving and tangible support available for those feeling the pressure of friends, family or finances to end the life God has created within them."
Their full letter here.

ARCC apparently has a policy where they won't debate abortion. Why? Because the "choice" to kill pre-born children isn't up for debate in Arthur's world.

ARCC:
"We do not believe that abortion access and choice is a debate. We are not here to argue with anyone about that. Our job is to ensure that people have access to facts. While we have a policy against engaging with anti-abortion debate on our Facebook page, we felt it was necessary to respond to an Open Letter posted as a comment by the Valley Centre Crisis Pregnancy Centre in Nova Scotia."
ARCC goes on with their usual abortion propaganda. You can read it. Or not. Your choice.

Finally, Valley Care Pregnancy Centre asks a very good question I thought:
Since most abortions in Canada occur between 9-12 weeks (with about 10% done after 12 weeks, according to your publications), why do you only display the outside of the fetal sac of a 6-week embryo, but do not show the development inside the 6-week fetal sac; and why do you not show any other fetal images between 7-12 weeks or beyond?
The women we have been honoured to work with have told us they didn’t like to see images of human development between 7-12 weeks and beyond because they were trying to deny that reality. They told us that if they had been given a safe, loving environment to share their story and receive complete information about what was going on inside them, they may have made a different decision, and would not have to live with the regret they now carry.
Therefore, we encourage you to add images to your media list of fetal development, inside the fetal sac, for weeks 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 so that women can make an informed health decision based on how far along their pregnancy has progressed. (www.EHD.org has amazing images and video.)
ARCC's response:
"Abortion clinics have fetal development photos available if patients want to see them, and they can be easily found online too. We are a political group that protects abortion rights, and there is no reason for us to host fetal development photos – especially on our “stock photo” page, the point of which is to stop media from using pictures of fetuses and pregnant bellies. Reproductive rights are not about fetuses. Reproductive rights are about the rights and circumstances of women and transgender people. We are opposed to the type of visual misinformation that CPCs are notorious for disseminating without proper context. People will always have abortions and misinforming them or making them feel guilty will not change that."
"Reproductive rights are not about fetuses"? Well actually, yes they are. The words "Reproductive rights" are just euphemizing abortion. And abortion is all about human rights for two human beings: the woman and the fetus.

ARCC won't show fetal pictures on their website because that could dissuade a woman from having an abortion if she sees what the child looks like, since a fetus looks like a child. It might change her mind about abortion.

I'm struggling with these words "Visual misinformation". Is ARCC saying that pictures of a fetus at various stages of development is visual misinformation? I hope not.

Here are the pictures of fetal development that ARCC won't show.
